Andrew Nguyen

Growing up, my parents told me, “Always leave a place better than when you found it.” UC Merced is an incredible institution and as a community, we can continue to push for excellence in all capacities. As a passionate Bobcat, I decided to join ASUCM because I wanted to help make a difference in the lives of students. I jumped in as Director of Communications and Commissioner on Education and Awareness my freshman year instituting ventures like the UC Merced Mobile App, MobileCat. Furthermore, I have developed close relationships with administrators from departments like Housing, Students First, Office of Student Life, and Information Technology. Aside from ASUCM, I have been actively involved in Residence Hall Association as Treasurer and Colleges Against Cancer as Vice President, both experiences that have honed my organizational and budgetary skills.

I am running for Senator at Large because I believe that, with my team Bobcats United, we can inspire and lead UC Merced to the next level. My platform is broken down into top 2 priorities: maximizing the funding available to student organizations by reducing internal ASUCM spending and increasing campus unity and pride. Looking into the future, I want to put my focus on bringing students together and ensuring your voice is heard in our community. My name is Andrew Nguyen and I appreciate your support of me and the Bobcats United team.
