Rodrigo Garcia

Hello I’m Rodrigo Garcia a freshman majoring in Biological Sciences from San Diego, California who was raised in Tijuana, Mexico. I have had many experiences with both cultures by growing up in Mexico and attending school in San Diego. During high school I organized missionary retreats during spring break. What we did was gather a group of teenagers and we would go serve the individuals of a run down village in Baja California. This taught me how important it is to give back to the community as well as the effort it takes to make an event happen.

Here at UC Merced I seek to provide the support necessary to the clubs, greek life, and school departments in order for them to be able to make their events happen with more ease. It can be difficult to deliver the message you want because of the lack of funds, support, or the tedious process of something as simple as starting up a club. As future senator at large, I seek to attack these problems head on and work with you, the UC Merced student body, to make our school more efficient and proficient. In the end we all seek the best for our school and as senator I’d like to be the helping hand for anyone who might need it. Lets make UC Merced a better school by getting our message out there. All I ask is for your vote so I can aid you in this process and we can, as a whole, achieve our goal of making UC Merced one of the most recognized UC campuses.
