Luke Wilson

Fellow UCM students,

My name is Luke Wilson and I am running to be your Senator at Large. I am a third year Management major with a minor in Psychology and Economics, as well as a member of Sigma Chi and the Investing club. These organizations have provided me with firsthand experience in the creation, funding, planning, and budgeting of events within our campus and various organizations. As a Senator, I strive to use the knowledge I’ve attained to make financially responsible decisions within the Senate that will benefit both the students and UC Merced. Over the next year, if I am chosen as Senator, I want make sure that you as students feel welcome to participate alongside your student government representatives; helping create a bond between what the student leaders can do for you, and how you can benefit from it. One goal I would like to see accomplished in the near future is strengthening ASUCM’s relationship with TAPS to improve our parking situation. I believe that if we improve the relationship between our ASUCM and TAPS committee, we can offer more space for students to come to school on time and put an end to excessively crowded lots. Holding a position between student government can change the outcome of many issues that we as UCM students face today. If I am elected as one your Senators at Large, it will be my main priority to make sure that the voice of our student community is heard and properly represented.
