Joshua Bustamante

Running for Treasurer

Hello fellow UC Merced Students,

My name is Joshua Bustamante and I am running to be your ASUCM treasurer. I am a second year majoring in Management with a minor in Sociology and Economics. I am the Chief Finance Officer for Business Society, am part of the investment club, and have been a part of the ASUCM treasury staff while having the opportunity to shadow the previous treasurer, David Ascencio, for almost a year now. These organizations and experience have given me the skills and first hand experience to make responsible financial decisions. UC Merced has such a diverse community with so much room to grow, which is why I believe this university can have a beneficial impact in the central valley in the years to come. The impact that this university will have on the central valley will come from the foundation of our student. As ASUCM treasurer it is essential to hear what the students want as well as taking action. If elected ASUCM treasurer my main duties will be to make sure there is no misallocation of money towards the clubs and organizations that create the diversity of this campus and to also help develop new services and programs that will be beneficial to the students of this university and campus life as a whole. The continuation of the short and long-term plans that the previous treasurer has been working on will also be on my list to thrive for as treasurer. I strive to make a positive impact on the University of California, Merced and hope for the support of all my fellow bobcats.
